وهذا عام آخر نجتمع كلنا فيه هنا في فيينا وفي عشرات المدن في جميع أنحاء العالم لمناصرة الشعب الفلسطيني ورفع أصواتنا في إدانة نظام القمع الإجرامي وسياسات التطهير العرقي الذي تفرضه دولة الاحتلال عليه. مر عام آخر قاوم خلاله الفلسطينيون احتلال المستعمرين والعسكر لأراضيهم وما زالوا يستصرخون لعقود بأن دولة الاحتلال قد أقامت نظامًا عنصريًا مؤسسيًا للقمع والهيمنة حيث تتعامل مع الشعب الفلسطيني على أنهم مجموعة عرقية أدنى، وهو ما يسمى بنظام الفصل العنصري أو الأبارتايد، والذي يحرمهم من أبسط الحقوق الاجتماعية والمدنية. بدأت العديد من منظمات حقوق الإنسان البارزة باستخدام مصطلح الأبارتايد لاستدعاء جرائم الحرب التي ارتكبتها الدولة الصهيونية ، بما في ذلك بتسيلم وهيومن رايتس ووتش ومؤخراً منظمة العفو الدولية وكلية الحقوق بجامعة هارفارد والأمم المتحدة

This claim is not an overstated way to call attention to the Palestinian cause, no. The reality of the Palestinian population living in Israel, Occupied East Jerusalem, the rest of the West Bank and Gaza Strip, does actually comply with this legal concept as described in the 1973 Apartheid Convention and Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court.

Activists, scholars and Human Rights organizations across the world have also documented and reported the segregation, dispossession and exclusion that Palestinians face by the Israeli government which controls their lives.

Last year, the largest Israeli human rights group B´tselem already denounced the Israeli regime, which is implemented through a wide array of policies based on the organizing principle of advancing and perpetuating the supremacy of one group – Jews – over another – Palestinians. This accusation has since been also made by two of the most important and respected human rights organizations in the world. Human Rights Watch has denounced how the Israeli political and military control has been exerted to dispossess, confine, forcibly separate and subjugate Palestinians by virtue of their identity, in many cases thoroughly documented, amounting to the crimes against humanity of apartheid and persecution.

More recently Amnesty International has arrived at the same conclusion: the massive seizures of Palestinian land and property, the unlawful killings, the forcible transfers or population, the drastic movement restrictions, and the denial of nationality and citizenship to Palestinians are all components of a system which amounts to apartheid under international law.

في الأسابيع الأخيرة، وكرد على الحرب في أوكرانيا، فرضت الدول الغربية عقوبات على روسيا، بما في ذلك النمسا وجميع دول الاتحاد الأوروبي، وقامت بمقاطعة الشركات والمؤسسات التي يقوم عليها نظام بوتين، معترفةً بذلك بشرعية وفائدة هذه الأساليب لإجبار الدول على احترام القانون الدولي ووقف انتهاكات حقوق الإنسان. However, it has also shown the hypocrisy of these governments and corporations which apply a double standard regarding the use of the same methods on Israel for the war crimes and crimes against humanity committed against Palestinians, and continue providing diplomatic shielding from accountability at the UN and other international institutions or provide commercial, economic and material support to the occupation of Palestinian land and the Israeli apartheid regime. These acts and the statements that justify them effectively demolish almost all the anti-BDS excuses propagated by Israel and its anti-Palestinian apologists in the West, against us over 17 years to thwart our calls for accountability and justice. Boycotts, divestments and sanctions that in the case of the BDS movement are targeted, proportional and lawful.

حركة البي دي اس هي حركة مقاطعة الاحتلال الإسرائيلي وسحب الاستثمارات منه وفرض العقوبات عليه، هي مبادرة سلمية ولدت من المجتمع المدني الفلسطيني لممارسة الضغط على حكومة الدولة الصهيونية لوقف انتهاكاتها الممنهجة لحقوق الإنسان واحترام القانون الدولي وإنهاء عدوانها الاستعماري على الشعب الفلسطيني. إنها حملة تضامن مع فلسطين، وتدعو إلى وضع حد للنظام اللاإنساني الذي يُبقي شعبًا بأكمله خاضعا الاضطهاد واللجوء والتشتت. لهذا السبب، نطالب الحكومة النمساوية والاتحاد الأوروبي والمجتمع الدولي بأسره بدعم مطالب الشعب الفلسطيني بفرض حظر عسكري أمني شامل على دولة الاحتلال، وقطع الروابط المالية مع البنوك التي تمول الفصل العنصري والمستوطنات، ووقف جميع التجارة مع المستوطنات الاستعمارية غير القانونية (التي تمثل جريمة حرب) وطرد دولة الاحتلال من الألعاب الأولمبية، والفيفا، وصندوق أبحاث الاتحاد الأوروبي، وكذلك من الهيئات الدولية الأخرى. It has been 30 years since the struggle of the South African people demonstrated that this kind of campaign can represent a fundamental tool against these criminal systems.

As BDS Austria we demand the Austrian government and Austrian institutions to take a firm stand against Israel until it complies with international law and puts an end to the apartheid against Palestinians. The Austrian government has proven a reliable international ally of the Israeli government and has provided crucial international political backing instead of denouncing its criminal policies and advocating for human rights. This includes opposing UN Human Rights Council resolutions against Israeli bombings of Gaza for example. We also call for an end to the economic and academic collaboration agreements in space research programs that involve the establishment of bases in the Negev/an-Naqab desert, involving the forced displacement of the Palestinian Bedouin population from their land. Furthermore, Austria must stop all arms trade with Israel, prohibiting the export of arms and warfare material, including Glock guns and drone components, used by the Israeli Defence Forces, which are guilty of committing war crimes. 

من المهم الآن أكثر من أي وقت مضى إظهار تضامننا مع الشعب الفلسطيني، ومع أي شعب مضطهد في العالم نتيجة الاستعمار والامبريالية. من المهم إظهار أن حقوق الإنسان للجميع، بغض النظر عن الجنسية، الدين، العرق، أو لون البشرة، نحن بحاجة إلى التنديد بجميع أشكال الاحتلال والغزو غير القانوني وإظهار تضامننا مع كل من يقاوم الاضطهاد والاستعمار، بغض النظر عن المكان، لأن نضالنا مرتبط ببعضه البعض. The same surveillance technology sold by Israeli companies that control the lives of millions of Palestinians is used to spy on opposition leaders in El Salvador or Morocco. The forces of racial capitalism that generate inequality and exploit one part of the population, based on their race, depriving them of their opportunity to progress, act in similar ways in the US, Europe, Israel or the Occupied Palestinian Territories. The deprivation of their land and means of living of the indigenous Palestinian Bedouin population in the Negev/an-Naqab is experienced also by the indigenous peoples of so many Latin American, African or Asian countries.

إذا أردنا أن نعيش في عالم خالٍ من الظلم، فنحن بحاجة إلى توحيد نضالنا والمقاومة معًا، سواء كنا نتحدث عن مناهضة الاستعمار، أو المساواة العرقية، أو العدالة المناخية، أو المساواة بين الجنسين، أو حقوق المثليين، أو العدالة الاجتماعية، فنحن جميعًا نناضل من أجل الكرامة والعدالة. ولن نستسلم حتى النصر!

If we want to live in a world free of injustice, we need to unify our overlapping struggles and fight together. Whether we are talking anti-colonialism, racial equality, climate justice, gender equality, LGBTQ rights, or social justice, we are all fighting for dignity and justice. And we will not give up until we prevail.
