20.10.22: Aufgebrachte AktivistInnen protestierten lautstark am Schwarzenbergplatz

Grund war eine Veranstaltung des österr. Innenministeriums mit dem Titel „Aktuelle Herausforderungen der Terrorismusbekämpfung – Was Österreich daraus lernen kann“. Special Guest war – neben dem Botschafter des Apartheidsstaats – ein israelischer „Counter-terror“ Spezialist, also einer der Planer und Ausführer der israelischen Nekropolitik gegen die PalästinenserInnen.
Dieser Boaz Ganor kommt aus Herzliya, einer Kolonialstadt in Palästina 1948, benannt nach Theodor Herzl. Im rassistisch-kolonialen Wiener Klima der Donaumonarchie fabulierte dieser über einen „Judenstaat“, den er aber auch in Argentinien angesiedelt hätte, bevor er die „nationale Heimstatt in Palästina“ den Grossmachtpolitikern und Wirtschaftstreibenden seiner Zeit anpries. Er war auch interessierter Besucher der damals üblichen zutiefst rassistischen „Völkerschauen“.

Ganor , ganz in Herzls Sinne, will den palästinensischen Widerstand gegen die Besatzung als Terror verkaufen. Herzliya ist die Geburtsstadt der Cyberkampffirma NSO, Entwickler und Anwender des Pegasus-Projekts, mit dem politische AktivistInnen ausgespäht wurden. Mit Ganor, der als Wissenschaftler präsentiert wurde, soll nun wohl der Schmutz der Menschenrechtsverletzungen saubergewaschen werden, damit NSO Nachfolger Start-ups weiter tödliche Waffen verkaufen, an Länder wie Österreich. Damit Israel seine Völkerrrechtsverbrechen nicht alleine begehen muss – und Österreich sich antisemitismussauber fühlen kann.

Die Verbrechen der israelischen Besatzungsarmee in Gaza, in der Westbank und ganz Palästina sind bekannt. Die europäischen Staaten folgen dem US-Sanktionsregime gegen Iran, Venezuela, Afghanistan,… .
Keine Sanktion wurde gegen Israel verhängt. Europa hat den Siedlerkolonialstaat 1917 geschaffen. Einen Vorposten der Kultur gegen die Barbarei Asiens hat es Herzl genannt. Diese Ambition spricht bis heute aus Israel. So gefällt es auch dem rechtskonservativen österr. Innenministerium, Männer wie Boaz Ganor einzuladen.

Palästinasolidarische AktivistInnen haben ihre Abscheu und ihren Protest gegen diese Politik den Besuchern dieses Kriegswerbeevents, dem Botschafter des Apartheidstaats, den heuchlerischen österreichischen Staatsvertretern und Boaz, einem Architekten der israelischen Nekropolitik klar zum Ausdruck gebracht.

20.10.22: Activists protest at Schwarzenbergplatz in the city of Vienna

The occasion was a high-class event taking place, hosted by the Austrian Ministry of Interior, titled “Recent Challenges in Counter-Terrorism – What Austria can learn from it”. Special guest alongside the ambassador of Apartheid Israel was Boaz Ganor, an Israeli “counter-terror” specialist, a planner and executor of the Israeli necro-politics against the Palestinian people.

Ganor is from Herzliya, a settlement named after Theodor Herzl in 1948 occupied Palestine. It was in Vienna’s racist colonial climate, where Herzl romanced a “Jewish State” that he would have forced on Argentina as well before he advertised the “national home in Palestine” to the imperial powers and capital of the time. Unsurprisingly, Herzl was an interested visitor of the then-common colonial “Völkerschauen”.

That Ganor is mispresenting Palestinian resistance as terrorism fits Herzl’s legacy well. Herzliya is also the birthplace of the cyber surveillance company NSO. One of their creations is Project Pegasus, a spy software used on political activists. It is only obvious that framing an accomplice and perpetrator of the Israeli oppression against Palestinians as a scientist is supposed to whitewash the crimes against humanity carried out by the Apartheid State – so actual warfare can be further marketed and sold as “counter-terrorism”.

Countries like Austria then proudly refer to their assistance in Israel’s illegal occupation of Palestine and the daily disregard of International Law as strategies against anti-semitism.

The war crimes perpetrated by the Israeli military in Gaza, the Westbank, and all of Palestine have been well-known and widely documented for decades. While the European states ignorantly follow the US regime of sanctions against Iran, Venezuela, and Afghanistan, no sanction is ever imposed on Israel – the settler colonial project Europe had established in 1917. Herzl called it an outpost of civilization in the middle of the barbarism of Asia. The ambition hasn’t changed to this day. It’s no mystery why Austria’s right-wing interior minister is pleased to entertain guests like Ganor.

Palestine solidarity activists were firm in their protest and rejection of these policies, of the guests attending an event where warfare, tested on Palestinians is advertised, of the Apartheid ambassador, the insidious Austrian representatives and Boaz Ganor, an architect of Israeli necro-politics.
